Gail started her part time job with a local optician while in high school and continued to work while attending Paterson State College and graduated in 1975 with a degree in Psychology. She apprenticed with the optician for the next four years, took her State Boards and in 1980 became a Licensed Optician. She decided to stay in this field because she liked everything about it--the fashion and the science.

Gail opened the store over 30 years ago and has formed countless personal relationships with her customers ever since to maintain her successful business. Along with her sister Mary Ellen, their honest opinions and friendly attitudes are known throughout the community.

Gail is also the past President of the Spring Lake/Brielle Rotary and continues to be on the board of directors. She says, “We are involved locally and internationally helping make the world a better place. Rotary's motto is "Service above Self", and I try to live my life that way. I do feel we are all obligated to help each other whenever we can.” She has a Paul Harris Award and for her year as president received the District Community Service Award. She has been involved with various major sponsorships such as, The Manasquan Lifeguard Tournament, The Fireman’s Fair, Brielle Fire Dept., and since the beginning, she has remained a sponsor of Just Us Girls. As a breast cancer survivor this holds a special place in Gail’s heart.

In 1999 Mary Ellen came work with her sister Gail. Mary Ellen, who was raising young children, went to college at night for 3 years, took her State Boards and became a licensed optician. “Mary Ellen excelled in the optical courses, and has become a great asset to my business. It was a great business decision for both of us,” says Gail.

Mary Ellen along with her sister Gail, are eager to help you find a new pair of glasses that not only help you see better, but make you look better!
